Since the release of the iPhone 6, Apple has taken over for smartphone sales. In 2014 there were over 1.9 Billion mobile phones sold. This would mean more than 1 of every 4 people in the WORLD bought a mobile device in 2014 alone! Of the 1.9 Billion devices, 192 million were iPhones and 308 million were Samsungs. However, in Q4 alone, Apple finally passed Samsung with the amount of individual units sold. According to Gartner research, from October 1st to December 31st in 2014, Apple sold roughly 75 million devices compared to Samsungs 73 million devices. Since there is roughly 8 million seconds over a 3 month period that would then mean Apple sold about 10 devices per second for every second in Q4. Imagine how many devices will be in the world in just another year. This number is only set to increase based on how user's retain and replenish their devices.
Samsung has 24.7% market share compared to Apple's 15.4%. This is getting to a closer margin every year. I'm happy to see this to be honest, because let's be honest, the more iOS devices (especially iPhones) then the more iPhones that will break or crack. Without even doing the math, we can all assume this means more repair request for iCracked and every other phone repair company. This makes me a happy camper. Now as much as I don't want anyone to crack their device, it does keep small businesses afloat. MY goal is to keep you mobile and keep you connected to your device. I don't know what I would do without my iPhone 6 so I don't want anyone else to feel lost either. Having your smartphone not only helps you communicate, but it helps you be connected to the world and all the good (and bad) it offers.
If you ever break your iPhone or any other iOS device, please give me a call or submit a repair or on Ann Arbor iPhone Repair or iCracked.
